The Primex Family of Companies (PFOC) is a privately held, three-division strong family business focused on applying current and future technology to make our customers' lives easier and more convenient. 
We got our start in 1972 when Fred and Karen Koermer founded Klockit, selling clocks and clock parts to local businesses and hobbyists out of their kitchen (talk about a challenging work environment!) Today, Klockit, Chaney Instrument, and Primex (formerly Primex Wireless) are all part of the family, calling scenic Lake Geneva, Wisconsin home.

We also have offices in Canada, the UK and Hong Kong and our products are sold in over 35 countries across the globe. With almost half a century of business under our belts, we have related business lines in commercial and consumer products, each with a technology component to its product offerings. 
Primex is the leading provider of environmental monitoring and time synchronization technologies designed to help facility managers improve productivity, efficiencies and accountability.
Although Primex has their roots in wireless clock synchronization, their growing portfolio has expanded to include a variety of solutions and platforms designed to simplify common facility tasks including:

Chaney Instrument Co., founded in 1943, has earned a long-standing reputation as a leading manufacturer of precision time, temperature and weather products.
Chaney became part of the Primex Family of Companies in 1987 and quickly grew to become one of the largest and most trusted manufacturers of quartz clock movements in the US. In addition to ultimately achieving an annual output of over 10 million motors, Chaney pioneered the ability for consumers to enjoy atomic clock accuracy and convenience in their homes.
More recently, Chaney's AcuRite brand has established itself as the #1 top-selling maker of personal weather products. A consumer favorite at major retailers like Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, Costco, Kohls and more, people have come to trust AcuRite for precision measurements of outdoor and indoor environmental conditions, as well as dependable, personalized weather forecasts specific to their own back yard. Klockit is the world’s leading supplier of clock parts and accessories to clockmakers and hobbyists around the globe. 
Klockit was founded in 1972 by Fred and Karen Koermer. The Koermer's launched the company from their kitchen table! Their business soon expanded beyond the confines of their kitchen and the Koermer's took their business to a store-front in quaint Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.  
Recently, Klockit moved its focus from the store-front to the web. The Klockit team has been working hard to create an intuitive and user-friendly website that tenured hobbyists or first timers will be able to use. Klockit still has a presence in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and is proud to call it home.

Our goal is to help make life better for our community by supporting local animal shelters, holding food and coat drives for the county and supporting organizations such as the Alzheimer's Association  (Southwestern Wisconsin Chapter). Back in 2007, we turned our collective passion into action. Since that time, PFOC's Alzheimer's Walking Team "Movers & Shakers" and local community partners have raised almost $160,000 to benefit the Alzheimer's Association and their programs.
This year we were honored to host Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, former Governor Martin Schreiber, Secretary of Health and Human Services Kitty Rhoades, Alzheimer’s Association Executive Director Tom Hlavacek, Alzheimer’s Association Development Director MaryAnn Vance, and several state representatives.
Governor Walker unveiled a redesigned state dementia care system, which includes a Dementia-Friendly Employers Toolkit. This toolkit aims to provide support and relief for Wisconsin residents caring for an individual suffering with dementia. It also provide tools and resources for companies with employees in their ranks who are caregivers.

What made you interested in the accounting/finance field?  I took a bookkeeping class in high school and caught the accounting/finance bug!  After majoring in accounting in college, I worked for a Big 4 accounting firm serving the financial and IT audit needs of middle market companies but became more interested in leading finance/IT organizations for these entities.  I now focus on developing “best in class” finance and IT teams and processes that are integrated across the company to generate both revenue and profitability growth.
